President Girma Woldegiorgis urged the public to contribute share in the efforts of the government to realizing the development activities launched by the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
In a press briefing he gave on Saturday, the President called on the public to continue efforts to sustain the ongoing development endeavors. He affirmed government's commitment to realizing the dreams of the late Premier.
The President said Prime Minister Meles' prudent leadership enabled the country to build developmental and democratic system.
He said the leadership of Prime Minister Meles helped the nation undertake fruitful development activities that would enable it to meet the MDG by 2015.
During the past 21 years Ethiopia has registered encouraging results in various sectors, the President noted.
The country has managed to raise primary education coverage to more than 95 percent and higher learning enrollment to over 200,000.
The government has also carried out various activities to ease the shortage of residential houses in urban areas and to expand all kinds of infrastructure nationwide.
